I trained with Birthing Awareness and initially worked with mothers suffering birth trauma, however, the technique is useful for all sorts of trauma. It works as a guided meditation to resolve feelings around previous difficult experiences. It usually comprises three separate, hour-long sessions (though some people find they only need two sessions, and some need more).
I have trained as a midwife and have worked in adult mental health services. I have previously volunteered with Devon Rape Crisis and I work in the welfare team at a local all-through school, supporting children aged 5 to 16.
My volunteer work with DRC and Midwifery training has given me many skills in supporting survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
