Hello, I’m Jenny Davy – Mother, Writer and Teacher of the Alexander Technique. I’ve just moved to Paignton in March 2023.

I look forward to meeting new pupils and working with the wonderful team at The Devon Clinic.
I’ve been practicing the Alexander Technique since my mid-teens and have taught for nearly 30 years.

My skills and understanding increase and deepen over time – similar to a martial arts expert I suppose. I share this expertise with others. It’s a wonderful job, vocation, and way of life…

The Alexander Technique is a practical and thorough way of improving muscular use; regaining natural poise and comfort in balance and movement.

Lessons can ‘free up’ breathing, circulation, and digestion; help with stress-related conditions and help a person to improve their skills, posture, and general well-being. Without noticing, we all habitually respond to things in life by gripping our muscles and gradually developing postural habits, which create pressure in the body. At best this pressure can lead to poor coordination, at worst it can cause stress, pain, and even structural damage.

The aim of the Alexander Technique is to help people identify their postural habits and eliminate muscular pressure. From a musculoskeletal perspective, this can benefit most people: athletes, musicians, actors, people in business, people in discomfort, people seeking poise and gravitas, young and old.
