Elizabeth (Lizzy) McLeod

A registered counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Lizzy has over twelve years experience of supporting people of all ages with their mental health and wellbeing. She currently works in private practice offering counselling and is also employed within the NHS where she offers psychological therapy within the Perinatal Loss and Trauma Therapy Service also.

Lizzy provides a safe, non-judgemental space to explore and understand what brings you to therapy at this time. This may not even be clear at first as to what you are feeling and she can support you in the process of exploring this with compassion, patience and care.

Everyone is unique in their own different experiences and how they are felt. Lizzy will support you from the very start and up until the end of therapy with an individualised approach that is designed to meet your mental health needs and well-being using evidence-based models and frameworks. This includes using trauma-focused and client-centred approaches that hold you as the client at the centre of your care and decisions in relation to this.

Whilst supporting people with a wide range of struggles and distress, including anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship difficulties, Lizzy also specialises in supporting perinatal and maternal mental health. This includes women/birthing people who may be finding aspects of their pregnancy, birthing experience or postnatal care difficult. It may be that you have experienced a pregnancy or young infant loss and would like some support as you grieve.
