What is Acid Reflux Disease?

Heartburn is a feeling of burning in the chest caused by the stomach acid travelling upwards to the throat (acid reflux). If symptoms persist it is known as Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease.

The main symptoms include heartburn and an unpleasant sour taste in the mouth. Other symptoms include; hiccups, bad breath, bloating, nausea and a hoarse voice. Symptoms typically worsen after eating or when lying down
