Bowen Technique

BowenBowen technique is a gentle and effective treatment used to support individuals with injury, physical and psychological and long-standing problems.

The Bowen Technique is a complementary technique that works on the connective tissues of the body. Treatment consists of the therapist's applying small movements of varying pressure. The sessions are both pleasant and relaxing while stimulating the natural healing process. It can be used for musculoskeletal and related neurological ailments, including injuries.

Method

The technique is a rolling-type movement using the thumbs and forefingers. Designed to stimulate nerve pathways allowing connections to be made between the nervous systems of the body. The therapist may leave the room during your treatment to allow your body time to respond and for the necessary changes to occur in your body. These short pauses increase the effectiveness of each set of moves.

Treatment can be applied through a layer of light clothing. Bowen therapy's gentle approach is suitable for all ages, including babies.

Many celebrities, including Bear Grills, use the Bowen technique to recover from injury.
